Located in the city centre, The Grand is a quiet haven in the heart of buzzing Bristol. Even with its central location you don’t have to worry about parking, as it has its own car park on-site.

The Grand (formerly known as Thistle Bristol) dates from the Victorian age, when local hero IK Brunel reshaped Bristol - and the world - with engineering feats like the Clifton Suspension Bridge and SS Great Britain. In a city that’s no stranger to major feats of construction, the hotel has been engaged in extensive refurbishment works of its own. Refurbishment has concluded on the majority of the bedrooms and the major function rooms now have a more modern and contemporary look and feel, whilst retaining the hotel’s Victorian charm. Directions

By Road: From M4 junction 19, just take the M32 to Bristol city centre. Left at the traffic lights at the end of M32. Keep left, take 3rd exit at roundabout and bear right. Turn left at traffic lights into Broad Weir and past the NCP car park. Turn right into Broad Street as the road veers left.  The hotel car park is found by a right turn just past the front of the hotel.

The Thistle Grand Hotel is just 1 mile from Bristol Temple Meads railway station, and only eight miles from Bristol airport.

Car Parking

Parking is sually £8.00 per vehicle for 24 hours, but AV3 attendees are given a special 3 night rate of just £15.00 for arriving Friday 13th and departing Monday 16th November 2009
